We listen to a lot of music and you are the most underrated musician we’ve ever seen. There are a lot of people in the RRHOF who are not as good as you!
Well I agree. Juliana’s output is huge, and most of it, if not all of it, is built with very formidable ingredients that lead up to unique, but expert musical sensibilities. I only know of the most recognizable artists who have also been very prolific: Paul McCartney, Prince, and I include the likes of Burt Bacharach.
So yeah, who else has a catalog like Juliana? How many RRHOF entrants made it on the back of maybe one, maybe two hit songs- but had very little output? Let alone an output that was born of their OWN talent, skill, knowledge of music on par with Juliana’s?
Speaking from the heart, maybe the RRHOF doesn’t deserve Juliana Hatfield.
So, all in all, I agree with you and had to say my peace. Thank you!
Big fan of your earlier work on Hey Babe and especially Blake Babies! Although all the cover albums and Pussycat were phenomenal. I’ve always wondered why there are hardly any live performances of Hey Babe. I just find it so timeless as I’m in my mid 20’s now figuring it all out and this album just hits it out of the ballpark. Truly 10/10 and don’t get me started on your Blake Babies songs because yall are just brilliant. Not a lot of new indie rock bands sound as original as yall did or at least to me.
Really cool to find Julianna Hatfield on here. Hey Babe is a terrific record. One of my favorites. Great show, must have around 92, maybe 94 in Chapel Hill still sticks in my memory.
Wow. Big fan from the Blake Babies era. Im excited to read what you’re up to these days and equally interested in hearing whatever music you’re making. Welcome to Substack
I’ve always loved your writing and music. I can remember being younger and reading an article in Rolling Stone where you mentioned hugging your cd player while listening to “Diary” by “Sunny Day Real Estate.” I thought “that’s is exactly how I feel about music (and Diary)!” And something about that image made me feel understood. Thanks for being awesome and being an overall good person who pushes to make the world better. People notice.
I've dipped in and out of your music over the years. You remind me of Cobain in the sense that you have strong pop sensibilities and never lose sight of the melody. You could release an album of death metal and it would still be evident
I really like your cover of Ordinary Dream. It peels away the rind of the original and gives what's underneath a good dusting of confectioners sugar.
Thank you,,I appreciate your thoughts and the fact that you know Ordinary Dream,..I was not aware of it or the Zoom album until I started working on my ELO thing
I look forward to your next record and will continue to listen to your wonderful music always. Thank you Juliana for your art and your fabulous songs that are the soundtrack of my days
Hi Juliana, I’ve taken the plunge to subscribe. Not quite sure why I hesitated, I see you as a kindred spirit, your musical language fits with mine and I just ‘get’ you. We met when you played Manchester Uni (UK) a few years ago and I was socially inept as usual, clumsy and embarrassing, the usual thing when I meet someone I admire greatly. I look forward to a greater understanding of you, your life and music.
I had to google RRHOF haha...thank you that's sweet of you to say
I made a reply I’d like you to see. It’s on Jay Mack’s comment that you replied to (about the RRHOF).

Side note my top track this Winter was apparently You Don’t Give Up from Earwig

I've always liked your music. I think the "Juliana Hatfield Sings .." records are a stroke of genius. Hope you keep the music coming.
Huge fan from back in the early 90s! So glad to see you here!

Thanks and welcome!
Appreciated!
I made a playlist several years ago of all my favorite JH songs. I would love to share it here! It’s currently at 95 songs.

Been a fan for a long time. Would love to hear stories about the Boston music scene from the early days.
