My name is Juliana and I am a recording artist. Some people might know me from the ’90s but I’ve never stopped doing it. I’ve toured the world and I’ve written and released what seems like a million songs. I’ve got music in me and it wants to come out so I keep going.
It’s a day job and a night job and a dream job and a grind and a heartbreaker. It’s an act of will and a compulsion and a fate I can’t escape; it feels inevitable that I will make music until I physically can’t.
It’s honest work. I think unpolished truth is refreshing: it clears (sometimes torches) the air.
My last album was Juliana Hatfield Sings ELO and I am working now on an album of originals that I hope will be released by the end of this year.
Here, I will write about things inside, around and related to music: creativity, the business, the culture, the lifestyle, the people, the road, the songs, the mysteries, the feelings and reactions, the memories, the absurdities, the disappointments, the triumphs. Sometimes the music angle will be peripheral but always it is part of the essence.
I will post something at least once a month and sometimes twice, or five or maybe ten times, depending on how many ideas I have and how much energy. Thank you for listening.
I had to google RRHOF haha...thank you that's sweet of you to say
We listen to a lot of music and you are the most underrated musician we’ve ever seen. There are a lot of people in the RRHOF who are not as good as you!
